Prefect Tutoring and Duty Roster

Attention all prefects (and Head Boy):

Tutoring

I thought I would take advantage of these things to do some housekeeping. As those of you who are returning to this post know, part of our responsibilities include tutoring, and patrolling the corridors in the evening. This is as usual this year, and I would like volunteers for each subject. Note that the term "volunteers" is a misnomer. You are required to tutor - but you can choose which subjects you assist others in.

    Only!

  • You cannot tutor students of your own level. That is, if you are a fifth year, you may not tutor other OWL students yes, that means you, Granger, if you do indeed possess one of these contraptions and can read this. I don't care how smart you think you are.

  • You cannot tutor more than two different classes. However, do put down more than two - in fact, any subject you feel competent enough in to instruct. We may have some overlap, and for that I'll have to break a few hearts.

  • You cannot volunteer for less than two subjects. You must nominate two, minimum though I don't know what the hell I'm going to do with you, Weasley, and your obvious lack of academic smarts. Oh well. Whatever I sign you up for, Madam Granger will no doubt do all your work for you, so all's well that ends well, I suppose.

  • I am willing to nominate people for History of Magic. So you better be very, very nice to me for the remainder of this week. No snark, Warrington, and no flirting with oth- comments about broomsticks up my arse, Stebbins.

  • Yes, JD, you can tutor if you're a NEWT student and not a prefect - if you get a referral from your house head.

Not everyone will be required to tutor. Depending on how the numbers fall, I'm going to start with seventh years and work my way down.

Now that's sorted (and for both our sakes' hopefully with minimal whinging) onto the second item:

Patrol Duty:

This year, I plan to be a bit more organised than my co-pilot past head students and do my best to pair the fifth years and the other untried prefects with the more experienced of us. I will do this impartially by placing the slips of paper you will provide me inside the following, which has been charmed according to certain specifications:

Flitwick assures me that it works! Though he seemed a tad too enthusiastic about it.

So, into the above, which will be left in the Charms classroom as we either all take that class, or have classes nearby, you will place a note with the following:

♠ Your name
♠ Your year
♠ How many years you have been a prefect for
♠ Your first three choices to do patrol with

    Only!

  • I do not run a bloody dating agency. That is, if you want me to set you up with the love of your life, I will not comply. I will likely ask Flitwick that you be stuck with Parkinson or Malfoy purely out of spite. Unless of course the love of your life is either Parkinson or Malfoy, or both. In which case I am very disturbed and not entirely sure if you should be working anywhere near small children.

  • Do adhere to the guidelines I have set out above. That is, if you are a returning seventh year prefect, you'd most likely end up with your choice if you write only the names of fifth years. If you have taken over from Warrington or myself and Rowena's girdle, who am I going to find to be saddled with Natalie Spinks and her mood swings, it would be a wise move to conversely pick only returning sixth years and above.

  • Again, I do not run a dating agency. This is not a social club, and I don't particularly care whether you like your eventual cohort or not. What's important to me is that you work together. You'd best see to it that you do. If not, you will be sent to my colleague for him to deal with you ha! About time he did something! And Malfoy is likely to whinge, oh, I just know it...

The submission window for the boot why a boot, Flitwick? Why not something more impressive like a nice vase? Why? will close two days from now. Any marriage proposals and/or death threats, don't leave them here. I don't particularly care.

(( OOC: Just comment to this post in-character with what subjects your baby can tutor in and then (in italics) with the information that the anal one has asked for. We'll pretend we can't see that ;p ))

Hello Fawcett and my, I didn't realise how surly you can be before,

I can tutor in Potions and Herbology, and am also fairly confident in Charms, though I think we'll already have enough for that, with the class being so popular.

♣ Your name: Alicia Spinnet
♣ Your year: Seventh
♣ How many years you have been a prefect for: Two prior to this one
♣ Your first three choices to do patrol with: Well, I assume she'll want to place me with someone less experienced, so... Ernie Macmillan, Hermione Granger and Padma Patil I don't think I'll be as shy with students from a different house, if they're younger than me.

I can tutor in any of my subjects, sans History of Magic because teaching the whole course from scratch to an already failing student is just torture. To recap, Astronomy, Ancient Runes and Transfiguration.

♠ Your name: Adrian Pucey
♠ Your year: Seventh
♠ How many years you have been a prefect for: Previously? Nill.
♠ Your first three choices to do patrol with: Cassius Warrington, Susannah Caligo and oh, what the hell, she's the sanest person there Alicia Spinnet

I have my referral! Quite literally. Flitwick gave it to me when he was doing timetables this morning. Seemed very eager to ensure I had it, actually.

Anyway, the usual: Ancient Runes and Charms and, oh, wait, I dropped HoM, didn't I? Sorry. Um... Can I only list two? Because the other choices are Astronomy, Potions and DADA. Oh, alright, I can tutor in Potions too.

Right, as for myself I can tutor in Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, Muggle Studies and Transfiguration but I am not bloody doing all four of them, or History of Magic.

♠ Your name: Serenity Fawcett

♠ Your first three choices to do patrol with: Not Malfoy. Not Parkinson. Not Weasley. Not Granger. Anthony Goldstein, Hannah Abbott or Padma Patil.

Greetings and Salutations, your Ladyship.

I can tutor in Charms, DADA and also tutor in the art of bullshitting in Divination.

Name: Cassius Warrington
Year: Seventh
How many years you have been a prefect for? Two
Your first three choices to do patrol with Adrian Pucey, Roger Davies One of the few tolerable prefects and S. Fawcett.

And no I don't care what you say Fawcett. Yes there may be other fifth year prefects, but there is no way in hell I'll patrol with Weasley, Granger, Malfoy or Parkinson. Not even if the very existence of life depended upon it.

Like I said before, I'll be happy to tutor students from any year except Vane on Charms and Herbology. Muggle Studies too, if tutoring is also needed.

♠ Your name: Nicholas B. Stebbins
♠ Your year: Seventh
♠ How many years you have been a prefect for: first time
♠ Your first three choices to do patrol with: Laura Appleby, Peter Kim, Ben Botha

Well, my personal favourite subjects are Charms and DADA, but as there seem to be many people already offering to tutor in those, I'll also put up Arithmancy, Muggle Studies, Transfiguration and Potions. As you wish, really.

♠ Your name: Roger Davies
♠ Your year: Seventh
♠ How many years you have been a prefect for? Two before this one
♠ Your first three choices to do patrol with? Well... I get along with most people, I would think. And as an older Prefect I suppose I'll be put with someone younger. So for that, I'll say... Anthony Goldstein, Padma Patil and Ernie MacMillan. Though otherwise, Fawcett, Peter Kim and Keeley O'Shaughnessy, who seem the sanest and most easy to get along with. Or in Fawcett's case, the most well-accustomed.
